Rec Centers & Pools

The St. George area is home to two official rec centers (St. George & Washington), as well as several other facilities which provide a variety of equipment for physical activity and sporting hobbies. 
 
The St. George Skate Park, Tonaquint Nature Center, and Carousel at Town Square are additional recreation hubs of interest.
 
St. George Rec Center:
The St. George Recreation Center is the place to be to spend time with your family, lose some weight or make friends. It is the premier gym in Southern Utah. It will have something for every member of the family. Features of the Rec Center include organized fitness classes, strength training equipment for everyone and the best maintained Racquetball Courts in the city.
 
The amenities included in the St. George Recreation Center are spectacular:
  • Full court basketball court (2 permanent hoops, 2 temporary adjustable hoops, In floor volleyball adapters)
  • Cardio Room (including: treadmills, aerobic bicycles, precore machine, stretching area, elliptical machines, televisions)
  • Game Room (including: 3 pool tables, 2 air hockey tables, foosball table, table tennis table, vending machines)
  • Auxiliary Gym (including: sport court flooring, temporary adjustable basketball hoops, wall with mirrors, bouldering wall, punching bag, sound system)
  • Lounge (including: flat screen television, leather couches, whiteboard)
  • Weight room (including: free weights, machine weights, equipment for all areas of the body, television)
  • Cycling room (including: 15 spin bikes, sound system)
  • 4 Racquetball courts
  • Hobby room (including: 6 pottery wheels, sink, soldering table, jewelry oven, lapidary with grinders, saws and polishers, vulcanizer, ceramics kiln)
  • Child care (children’s toys, friendliest child care attendants in town)

Washington City Community Center
The Washington City Community Center consists of a gym, indoor track, and an indoor aquatic center. In addition to these amenities, the WCCC hosts many classes in fitness, swimming, and sports, with in-depth information available on Washington City's official website.

Area Pools:

St. George City Pool
This St. George City Pool facility includes a 25 meter by 25 yard competition and diving pool and a 5,800 square foot leisure pool. The leisure pool has a zero depth entry area, includes interactive children’s water fun toys, a water walk and water slides. Different sprays and moving water provide the ultimate aquatic experience for the entire family to enjoy together. You can also BBQ, ride the hydro-tube, play waterbasketball, or have a diving competition.

Open Swim - Monday-Thursday: 1:00 – 5:00 pm and 6:30 – 9:00 pm, Fridays: 1:00 – 9:00 pm, Saturday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Lap Swim – Monday-Friday: 5:30 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

Sand Hollow Aquatic Center –
One of the best facilities of its kind in the west. Fun activities inside and outside the facility such as group parties, racing events and more. Indoor facilities include the hydro tube, whirlpool, lily-pad rope course, fountains, children slides, play pool, lap pool, diving area, volleyball, outdoor barbecue, and a children’s play area.
