Sand Hallow State Park

Sand Hollow is a very popular, very scenic state park in Southern Utah. Sand Hollow State Park features a 1,322-acre reservoir and 15,000 acres of dunes for off-road vehicles. Just 15 miles East of St George, Sand Hollow provides activities for everybody. Whether you hike, bike, boat, fish, or camp; you’ll be satisfied by all that Sand Hollow has to offer.

Reservoir
Nearly twice the size of the neighboring Quail Creek Reservoir, Sand Hollow is a frequented spot in Southern Utah. Because Sand Hollow’s reservoir boasts such warm water, it makes it a favorite spot for skiing and other water sports. While those interested in the water sports tend to stick to summer months, boaters can be found at the Sand Hollow Reservoir year round. Anglers frequent Sand hollow to fish for bass, bluegill and crappie.

Camping
Sand Hollow State Park has developed campgrounds and offers modern restrooms and showers. If you like to get close to the nature, you will easily be able to find the areas where primitive camping is available. While there are no specific group camping areas, visitors are welcome to find neighboring camp sites. Full RV hookups are available and while the majority of the sites are pull-through, a few are back in only.

Off-Road
Part of the Sand Hollow State Park is Sand Mountain, 15,000 acres of beautifully sculpted dunes. Sand Mountain makes Sand Hollow a favorite destination for local off-highway vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts.

Triathlons
Sand Hallow State Park is also the starting point for several triathlons including the Kokopelli Triathlon, the St. George Ironman, and now the St. George Half Ironman.

Sand Hallow Resort
Just outside the state park you will find Sand Hallow Resort.  This is a great place to stay the weekend and enjoy a few rounds of golf.  You may even decide you want to build a new home in their latest development and move here permanently.
